I caught a fish this big!

We went to Birch Creek over the weekend. We spent the night at the campground on Friday and went fishing on Saturday and then came home. We had quite the mis-adventure when we first got there. It had been raining and hailing on and off all afternoon so we had decided that we would just get up in the morning and go fishing not spend the night camping. However at six when Mac got off work, North of town looked pretty clear so we hurried and threw everything together and left. Because it was after seven when we got to the campground it took us a while to find a good place to camp. There were a lot of people up there and all of the spots in the developed campground with fire pits and tables were full. When we finally found a decent spot the ground was very uneven and the trailer was severely tilted (we just slept with our heads at the high end). Because of the rain everything was pretty wet and we really weren't planning on building a fire. Unfortunately, the stove had gotten knocked around and the gas regulator had fallen off and under the stove top so we couldn't lite the stove. Mac usually brings a bag with a couple of tools in it but in the rush to get gone had forgotten to grab it. So we had wet fire wood, no camp stove and only chips and cold hot dogs to eat. Me and the kids went and crawled around under some trees and found some wood that was relatively dry. By the time we had collected enough wood to build a fire to last long enough to roast five hot dogs, Mac had found a screw driver under his truck seat and fixed the stove. We still built a small fire and roasted marshmallows. The next morning we were going to fix pancakes but I had forgotten to pack syrup and butter. We forgot to put it on the list of food to pack! So we just had eggs and sausage instead.
With all the rain we have gotten in the last month the water was moving pretty high and fast. It made the fishing a little slower then usual. All three of the kids caught a fish though. Mac had also forgotten a flay knife so we just let all the fish we caught go since we couldn't clean them. Even though we felt like rookie campers for forgetting so much we had a great time.

Eliza's little rainbow
Taylor's brown whopper

Bobby cried because we packed his dump truck up and told him it was time to go.
